These terms set out the conditions for using chamfer (https://chamfer.takushio2525.com, “the service”), provided by takushio2525 (“we”). Anyone who uses the service (a “user”) agrees to these terms before using it. Signing in with a Google account means you agree to these terms.
Article 1 (The service)
The service is a tool for opening HTML documents, slides and similar files in a browser, editing them and exporting them as HTML. Signed-in users can save documents to the cloud, share them through links and work on them from AI tools. The service is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid features, we will set out and display their conditions separately.
Article 2 (Accounts)
- You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for managing your account.
- Minors must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before using the service.
Article 3 (Rights to your documents)
- The rights to the documents you open, create, save and share with the service (“your documents”) remain with you or with the original rights holder. We do not acquire any rights to them.
- You permit us, free of charge, to copy, transmit and process your documents only to the extent necessary to provide the service (storage, display, format conversion, delivery to the people you share with, exchanges with AI tools you connect, and dealing with failures). We do not use them for any other purpose, including advertising or as training data for AI.
- You warrant that you have the legitimate right to store and share your documents with the service (including, where they contain other people’s works or personal information, that you are allowed to handle them in this way).
Article 4 (Our access to documents)
We do not view or use the content of your documents. However, we may check them, only to the extent necessary, when required by law, when we need to verify a claim or report under Article 6, or when it is strictly necessary to deal with a failure.
Article 5 (Prohibited conduct)
You must not do any of the following with the service.
- Anything that violates the law, public order or good morals
- Storing or sharing documents that infringe the copyrights, trademarks, privacy, portrait rights, reputation or similar rights of others
- Phishing (posing as another service or organization to make people enter IDs, passwords, card numbers and the like), distributing malware or malicious programs, or leading people to them
- Fraud, nuisance or impersonation
- Sharing documents that contain sexual exploitation of children, obscene material, incitement to violence or discrimination, or defamation of others
- Publishing other people’s personal information without their consent
- Attacking, overloading or gaining unauthorized access to the systems of the service, of us or of other users, or getting around the limits of the service
- Using share links for something other than their intended purpose of showing a document, such as distributing files or publishing a website
Article 6 (Suspending sharing and deleting documents)
- If we determine that your documents or share links violate the previous article, or if someone claims that their rights have been infringed and we have reasonable grounds to believe that they have, we may, to the extent necessary, disable share links, delete your documents or suspend the use of your account.
- When we receive a claim of infringement, we may ask for your view in accordance with the procedures set by law. If you have not objected 7 days after our inquiry, we may disable the share link.
- If you find illegal or harmful content being shared, please let us know through the contact below.
Article 7 (Deleting your account)
You can have your account deleted by contacting us. Deleting your account also deletes the documents you saved to the cloud, your share links and the permissions you granted to AI tools, and this cannot be undone.
Article 8 (Changing, interrupting or ending the service)
- We may change the service, or interrupt or end it.
- Before ending the feature that stores documents in the cloud, we will announce it on the service’s screen at least 30 days in advance and give you a period in which you can export your documents. After that period, documents stored in the cloud will be deleted.
Article 9 (Keeping documents, and limits on our liability)
- We do not back up documents stored in the cloud. Export your important documents and keep copies yourself.
- We do not guarantee that the service is free of defects or that it is fit for any particular purpose.
- If you suffer damage in connection with the service, then except where the damage results from our intent or gross negligence, we are liable only for damage that would ordinarily arise, and not for damage arising from special circumstances or for lost profits. This paragraph applies only where the damage results from our minor negligence.
- We are not responsible for what the AI tools you connect, or the people who receive your share links, do. This does not apply where we acted intentionally or negligently.
Article 10 (Changes to these terms)
We may change these terms when necessary. When we do, we will announce the new terms and the date they take effect on the service’s screen before that date. Changes that are unfavorable to users will be announced at least 14 days before they take effect.
Article 11 (Governing law and jurisdiction)
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute concerning the service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction, as the court of first instance, of the district court with jurisdiction over our place of residence.
