chamfer guides

chamfer is a free browser-based editor for HTML slides and documents made by AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT. Instead of regenerating the whole deck, you fix the last few things yourself and export the same HTML. These guides cover how to use it, and what helps when you finish off AI-made slides.

Where to start

New to HTML slides? Start with HTML slides, start to finish: make, fix, print and present. It walks through making, fixing, printing, presenting and sharing a deck on one page, and tells you which of the guides below to read next.

Have an AI-made HTML deck and want to change some text or an image? Read How to fix AI-generated HTML slides without regenerating them first. It follows the screen in order, from opening the file to exporting it.

Need a PDF to submit or send? Go to Turn HTML slides into a PDF with one slide per page. It explains why printing straight from the browser falls apart and how to get exactly one slide per page.

About to ask an AI for slides? Read How to prompt AI for HTML slides that are easy to edit later beforehand. A few requests up front make later edits and PDF export much easier, and there is a prompt you can paste as is.

About chamfer

Open chamfer.takushio2525.com in a browser and it works: nothing to install, no account, no cost. It does not convert or re-render the HTML you open. Your edits are applied to the same HTML and exported as HTML. Unless you sign in, everything happens inside your browser and the files you open are never sent to a server.

  • Open a single HTML file, or a folder with its CSS and images. reveal.js decks and Claude Design deck-stage files work too
  • Click text to edit it in place, drag to move and resize, change colors and spacing, replace images
  • Add text boxes and shapes, reorder pages, and set elements to appear one at a time
  • Export As a page, As a presentation or As a PDF with one slide per page

Signing in with a Google account is optional. It lets you keep the document you are editing in the cloud, open it on another device and show it to others through a view-only link. Why chamfer exists and how it is built is on the author’s project page (in Japanese).
